American Vintage Gold Blue Topaz Floral Brooch

American vintage gold and blue topaz floral brooch. A handmade floral brooch circa late 1940's. Done in a wonderful style that has drawn some inspiration from the Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts that came before it. Elegant sweeping curves and a tulip style motif give this piece a beautiful composition. This is then finished with three oval cut blue topaz stones, claw set at the ends of the stems to represent the blooms.

The gold has a lovely rose hue due to its' age and level of purity.

Done in 12 carat gold, this piece is a fine example of vintage American design. The indication of gold purity is on a small plate on the back of the brooch along with the craftsmans' mark V.D. (This piece pre-dates the Hallmarking Act of 1973 and as such does not require a modern hallmark, due to the fact that this would ruin the providence)
